The Roy René Advent calendar
The Roy René confectioners have created a calendar that presents all their know-how in 24 boxes, and as many sweets.
Composed of calissons d'Aix, white and black nougats from Provence, small calissons with different flavours (lemon, plain, hazelnut coffee, hazelnut cocoa and raspberry), calisson nougat, red fruit nougat, pistachio nougat and citrus nougat, navettes de Provence, candied fruit shortbread, olivettes and calamandes, fig and quince fruit pastes, calisson-filled caramels and cocoa and feuillantine spreads, black nougat cream and jam.
The gourmet Advent calendar illustrates the fable "The bear and the bee" by the poet Aesop, in homage to the commitment of the Confiserie du Roy René through the association Act For Planet, for the protection of the black bee of Provence, an endemic and threatened species.
